Welcome to DULMEN.net. My name is Arno van Dulmen. I am living with my
family in Steenwijk, the Netherlands. Since 1993 I am working as an
all-round service engineer at the largest mail sorting centre from the Netherlands
at mail sorting machines. Together with a group of colleagues I'm taking account for all
technical aspects of these machines, such as computer hard- and software, PLC's,
electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanics.
In my spare time I like to design and build electronic circuits and program
PC or Android applications and (website)scripts.
Besides this I do a lot of photography and photo editing. Since 2010 I sell photo's at
Shutterstock.com.
They are used globally on websites, in adverts or printed matter.

Welkom bij DULMEN.net. Mijn naam is Arno van Dulmen. Ik woon met mijn gezin

Samen met een groep collega's werk ik bij het grootste post sorteercentrum van Nederland
aan post verwerkende machines.
Alle technische aspecten van deze machines nemen wij voor onze rekening zoals computer
hard- en software, PLC's, elektronika, pneumatiek, hydrauliek en mechanica.
In mijn vrije tijd ontwerp en bouw ik graag elektronische schakelingen en programmeer ik
PC of Android applicaties en (website)scripts.
Daarnaast fotografeer ik graag en doe aan foto bewerking. Sinds 2010 verkoop ik foto's via
Shutterstock.com.
Hierdoor worden ze wereldwijd gebruikt op websites, in advertenties of drukwerk.

On these pages I would like to share
some electronic/programming projects and photography I did in my
spare time. If you find anything useful or if you have
any questions about the subjects, send me an e-mail. I
would like to hear it and I will try to answer.
To construct this homepage I used the following software products:
- UltraEdit-32 v12 for the PHP, HTML and CSS files.
- Paint Shop Pro v7 and v12 to create the images and edit the photo's. This is a really great program !
- HighSlide v4.1.12 from Torstein Hønsi to create the image popups on the Event and Wallpaper pages.

Because of some large schematic images and the wallpaper pages this
homepage is best viewed with the resolution set on 1280x1024 or higher.

In November 2000 I had an option on my own free domain name at namedemo.com
for one year. I registered the domain each time for another year at register.com.
Since November 2003 I transferred the domain name to XelMedia.

As of spring 2009 the Wallpaper pages grew so big that i needed more
webspace. I decided to host the website on my own server. The only
problem is that is isn't very fast because of my limited upload
capacity. It did gave me the opportunity to install any server program
that i like to use.
A few month after configuring my own server I rewrote the Wallpaper pages
in PHP in stead of HTML. This means that
the pages are build on my server every time they are requested. The big
advantage of this method is that i can just add new wallpapers and the
PHP scripts do the rest. The scripts even resize the images and add
the watermark.
The server is currently running the following programs:
- Apache v2.2.11 as webserver.
- PHP v5.2.10 as serverside scripting language.
- ImageMagick v6.4.1-0 for high quality (batch) image conversion.

When i started this homepage the main subject was electronic circuits,
computer- and programming projects. At this moment most of the website
is filled with photography. Just a few old projects survived. At the
moment only the Wallpaper and Event pages are updated frequently.
